The Empress Solar Project is located in Cypress County, in Alberta, approximately 30km south of the Village of Empress on approximately 284 acres of privately owned land. The Power plant consists of ground-mounted solar PV Modules, with a total generating capacity of 38.5 MWac and 48.13 M Wdc.

Interesting facts

Unique challenges:

  • Environmental constraints caused by 18 active bird nests, which had an impact on the sequence of work.
  • Management worked around 7 wetlands, affecting logistics and team travel.

Achievements:

  • Minimized environmental impacts by performing minimal site grading, which has reduced wind erosion.
  • Implemented a new GPS system on all pile driving machines to meet the XTR tracker’s height requirements effectively.
Projet Huckleberry

Huckleberry Project

The Huckleberry Solar Project is a 124.7 MWac photovoltaic solar generating facility located in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Comprising 323,640 First Solar S7 modules, Sungrow SG4400-US inverters, and a NextPower 75 degree Hail Stow tracking system, it will produce enough clean energy to power more than 100,000 homes.

Projet Sharp Hills

Sharp Hills Wind

The Sharp Hills Wind Project is located in Special Area 3 and 4 near the hamlets of Sedalia and New Brigden, in Alberta. The project area is primarily used for grain farming and cattle grazing, which consists mainly of flat plains and rolling hills. Sharp Hills Wind Farm has a mixed layout utilizing 67 Vestas V150 turbines rated at 4.3 MW and 4.5 MW and has an installed capacity of 300MW. Sharp Hills’ generation is equivalent to the consumption of more than 160,000 Alberta homes.

Projet Michichi

Michichi Solar

The Michichi Photovoltaic Plant is a 25 MWac solar facility built in Kneehill County, Alberta, just north of Drumheller, connected to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System at 802S Michichi Creek substation. Every year, Michichi Solar project will generate enough emissions-free energy for more than 6,000 Alberta homes and offset approximately 30,000 metric tonnes of CO2.

Projet Kneehill

Kneehill Solar

The Kneehill Photovoltaic Plant is a 25 MWac solar facility built in Kneehill County, Alberta, just north of the Town of Three Hills, connected to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System at 770S Three Hills substation. Every year, Kneehill Solar project will generate enough electricity to power more than 6,000 average Alberta homes and offset approximately 30,000 metric tonnes of CO2.

Projet Hand Hills
